At Pilbara Psych & Assessment you can learn more about how to improve your psychological wellbeing and gain insight into how to live more meaningfully.
We offer therapeutic support for adults, children, adolescents, and parents across a wide range of life stressors and challenges. Such challenges include depression, anxiety, burnout, grief and loss, trauma, behavioural issues, family issues, workplace issues, stress, career transition, and more.
Individual Therapy
- Psychologists use varied evidence based therapy approaches to support you in one-on-one therapy sessions to reach your therapeutic goals. Evidence-based therapy models include CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-focused therapy, and Motivational interviewing to name a few.
- Although talking is the main objective in individual therapy, your therapist may offer you behavioural technques and strategies that can be practiced between sessions to reinforce, support, and maintain the gains made in sessions.
Parenting Support and Child Therapy
- Parenting is no easy task. Whether adjusting to the new life of parenthood or to the ever changing needs of your children, a psychologist can help. Pilbara Psych & Assessment have accredited facilitators in 'Circle of Security International Parenting Program'.
- Parents are the main players of change in their child's life! That is why we work with you to develop and adapt the needed skills required to encourage and foster your child's optimal development. Depending on the issues at hand and your child's age, we will spend different amounts of time working individually with your child. However, in all child therapy treatments, regardless of age or presenting worries, we will spend a considerable amount of time with you as parents to train you in how to continue and maintain the therapeutic gains made with in the home, school, and community environments.
- Through this therapeutic approach, our aim is teaching parents how to be their child's best behavioural therapists. This ultimately supports parents to be experts in helping their child learn to change behaviours.
